"Creation Scientist" Is Dead

Duane T. Gish.  Here's an old video of him debating Ian Plimer in a church, so the audience is pretty anti-science.  Gish had made the point (not in the video) that evolution is "just a theory".  That's the same ignorance one hears about LNT in health physics.  Plimer tries to counter with the theory of electricity, but the audience doesn't buy it.

Gish thinks that because you can't see apes turning into humans evolution is not true, it's not science.  (Well, you can't see humans popping into existence either!)  Health physics deniers use the same logic with LNT...you can't see an excess cancer incidence at low doses, therefore it's "just a theory".  Both LNT and evolution are about mutations causing genetic change (LNT deals with genotoxic substances, radiation being one of many).  The genetic changes lead to the evolution of tumors or new species.

People like Gish are a menace to society.
