Welcome to the RIB Joint. A blog discussing science issues with an emphasis on health physics and agnotology.
We'll try to keep 'em honest.

Mr. Applebaum, What evidence would convince you that LNT is not correct for low doses?Nick Thompson
Hi Nick:An sound epidemiological study of sufficient size showing a marked decrease in cancer incidence at a dose level above the statistical noise level. The Million Worker Study is currently being conducting, so we'll see what they get.A sound molecular biology study which demonstrates a mechanism that shows LNT is incorrect. The U.S. DoE Low Dose Radiation Research Program spent over 10 years and $200 million looking for such a mechanism, and could not do so:http://lowdose.energy.gov/about_originalplan.aspxBut someone may one day.
