A Bit More On Fukushima Steam

Radiation levels are steady, so it seems unlikely that criticality is the cause of the steam.

  1. Hm, the molten core sits now as a blob of nuclear goo at the bottom of the reactor. Uranium oxide, zirconium, steel. Should be solid at current temperatures, and not change shape any more. How plausible is it that it would transition from sub-critical to critical?
